Sky Blu ft. Mark Rosas – Pop Bottles (Official Video)
It’s finally here! The official music video for Sky Blu’s latest smash single “Pop Bottles” featuring Mark Rosas. Check it out below!
After becoming a household name thanks to a pair of No. 1 singles on the Hot 100 chart, the members of party-rocking pop duo LMFAO are now recording their own solo projects, while their collaborative project is on an indefinite hiatus. Although 37-year-old Redfoo has indicated that he wants to make solo music that remains in the “Party Rock Anthem” vein, the other half of LMFAO, 26-year-old Skyler “Sky Blu” Gordy, tells Billboard that he plans to venture outside of his comfort zone on his debut solo disc, due out July 4.
“It’s definitely going to show you the spectrum of who I am and what I do, because I truly want to be great at what I do,” says Sky Blu, who released his first solo single, “Pop Bottles,” last month, and performed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Wednesday night (Feb. 20). “I don’t want to just be known for shuffling. I love shuffling, but it’s just the beginning of the legacy I want to leave as an artist.”
If you haven’t heard Icona Pop’s “I Love It”, you’ve either been living under a rock…or missing all of NYLON’s parties, because it’s a dance floor (and, honestly, desk side) staple since the Swedish electro-pop duo landed on American shores earlier this year.
But for those who have heard it–and heard it enough that they’re starting to feel fatique–here are eight reasons to keep listening to the dance floor rouser: This week Icona Pop release multiple remixes of “I Love It,” helmed by a range of mega-DJs, producers, and bands (think Sazon Booya, Nari & Milani, and more). It’s the closest thing to new music you’ll get out of Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt before their US tour with Marina & the Diamonds kicks off in December and their debut album finally comes out in 2013.
You can buy tracks from Icona Pop’s I Love It (Remixes) here–but in the meantime, we’ve got the premiere of the Cobra Starship remix of the song. It’s got an extra layer of synths to make it both turbo-charged and a little more dreamier…in other words, we love it.
